A black-haired, brown-skinned boy chooses to do his class presentation on a "trailblazing woman" on Betty White, despite his teacher and one of his dads' doubt ("Wouldn't you rather choose someone more...traditional?"). When he goes to the library, Betty herself shows up, in a swooping black hat and big sunglasses, to help him with his research, only he doesn't realize that it's her. The reader is likely to catch on immediately, however, and when the boy calls the number she gave him, we see the boy on the left page, and Betty - in hair rollers and a facemask, polishing her Emmy award - on the right. She even pops into his classroom during his presentation!

This book is about a young boy who is giving a presentation in his class about Betty White. He explains all of her achievements and accomplishments, while also realizing that it is okay to be different and be yourself.
This book could be used in the classroom if the class is discussing women throughout history, and those that made history. It could be problematic for those that do not approve of same-sex marriage, because the young boy in the book has two dads.
