What I think you should know: The Wrangler's Ready Made Family is a Historical Christian Romance by Lacy Williams. It is the fifteenth book in the Wind River Hearts series and while it does give spoilers for other books in the series it can be read as a standalone novel. This book features Susie Crowell and is set in 1909. What you might need to know: Susie got pregnant out of wedlock prior to this book. I kept waiting for the Wrangler, however instead of a cowboy there was a gambler. What I think about think book: What a crazy story, but somehow it worked! The story was short, but sweet. While Susie was sometimes hard to like, I admired her strength. I hate to think what kind of creeps would leave a heavily pregnant woman to give birth in the wilderness, but I was glad to see that Gil did everything he could to protect her during her ordeal. Gil was a much easier character to like and helped me overlook some of Susie’s abrasiveness. I think that I would enjoy other books in the series. I received a complimentary copy of this book from Celebrate Lit, this in no way influenced my review. All opinions are my own. This is the perfect story for those who like western theme books. It has adventure, a dashing hero , bad guys and a woman who needs help. I liked how the characters were developed and slowly grew to like each other. They complimented each other even though Susie was a little hesitant to trust Gil. I guess being left behind waiting for help may make you a little uncomfortable. Susie has her hands full with a small child and another on the way. Gil is her best bet to survive until someone comes to rescue them. What a awkward position to be in as you go into labor in a dark cave with a strange man. I admired Susie’s strength as her new baby is born. Thinking about her giving birth made me chuckle a little. We have all these modern hospitals with everything you need to have a safe delivery. Susie had nothing but the help of a stranger. I guess I’m trying to say that nature knows what to do whether we are in a comfortable hospital bed or out in the range surrounded by caves. Gil has been handed a death sentence from doctors and believes he has little time to live. What he does for Susie and her children was honorable and showed how we need to help others in need. The author gives us background on her ex husband who passed away. He made his money gambling and treated Susie with no respect. Gil is offering her a home and a future. Will she accept his offer? Can she trust him? Grab a copy of this story to find out what happens next. It is filled with hope, secrets and a lesson in trust. I need to go back and read the other books in this series. The author makes the time period come to life and I love a well written marriage of convenience story. I received a copy of this book from Celebrate Lit. The review is my own opinion. The Wrangler's Ready-Made Family by Lacy Williams is book 15 in the Wild River Hearts series. This is a series that covers different members of the White family. This is a sweet shorter Christian historical romance story of a young expecting widow, Susie White Crowell, who is taking her young daughter to stay with a friend. The stage coach has an accident and they are left to stay in a small cave with another one of the passenger. This is a sweet story to read in an evening just for the fun of it. Even though it is part of a series, this is also a good stand alone story. The author does a fantastic job of filling in the family history that it is easy to follow along. While the topic of gambling is very prominent, it is a good clean story with some twists and turns that kept my attention. I appreciate Susie's opinion of the money made from gambling. I received a complimentary copy of this book, this is my honest review. 5 stars, Marriage convenient for whom? THE WRANGLERS READY-MADE FAMILY: WYOMING LEGACY by Lacy Williams This book is part of a series, I haven't read any other of the books, this one is a perfect standalone. Susie and Gil meet on a stagecoach, traveling through Wyoming. Susie is a young, pregnant widow, with a toddler-aged girl. Gil is suffering from consumption, knowing that he will be dead all too soon. They get stranded in a small, remote cave after a stagecoach crash in the snow. Susie has her new baby, a son, with only Gil's help. Gil finds out that Susie is all alone and wants to help her, asking for a marriage of convenience, so that she and her children will receive all of Gil's worldly belongings when he passes on. This is an original, delightful novel. Highly recommend. #lacywilliamsbooksllc #netgalley thoughtfully provided a complimentary copy of #thewranglersreadymadefamily I was under no obligation to post a review. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione

Trapped by a snowstorm after a stagecoach accident, Susie relies on Gil Boone when her baby decides to arrive. Suffering from tuberculosis, Boone traveled west for healing. This book examines forgiving ourselves, faithful restoring relationships, and discovering love while relying on God.
I must say I loved Gil’s interactions with Susie and her family. The author did an incredible job creating a world I wanted to keep reading about. As part of a series, I definitely recommend this book. If you enjoy Christian historical fiction, check it out for yourself.
