Patrick is a hot shot Hollywood actor that is in a bind so in order to fix his reputation he needs a complete overhaul. He thinks in order to revamp his image in Hollywood and stop being the social pariah he needs to fake a relationship, but all the women his agent finds are fake, and he wants someone down to earth and real. Norah is a waitress and works 3 different jobs to help support her grandmother who raised her, she keeps to herself, and is always honest. Patrick finds her intriguing and decides she is exactly what he is looking for. Patrick is broody, the strong silent type that keeps to himself, so Norah tries to break down his walls to get to know the real him. I loved how honest she was, and Patrick found it endearing as well. These two have an instant chemistry that they fight because Patrick is hard to get through too but when Norah does get him to open the steam turns up as well. When Patrick stood his ground and made his choice shutting Liv down, I was wanting to give him a standing ovation. This story of a fake relationship turned lovers is such a fun read with amazing characters and I absolutely loved it. ( ) Kylie Scott does an amazing job with only one POV, and this story rolls along beautifully as it's told by Norah. I'm still not sure how much I learned about Patrick, but this was a fun and fast read without a lot of angst which is what was sorely needed right now. I'll be interested to see how this couple is doing in future reads as this relationship was quite a whirlwind, but it worked for me. "5 out of 5 stars!! This was the contemporary romance that I never realized I needed. I LOVED IT!! Though I was worried towards the end of this novel that it might be a duology because of how “things go down” but that final twist made me love this novel all the more as I would feel this is definitely a lovely standalone read. It is a first-person romance all from Norah’s perspective, which – at first – I wasn’t sure I’d like but, in the end ..." 5 out of 5 stars!! This was the contemporary romance that I never realized I needed. I LOVED IT!! Though I was worried towards the end of this novel that it might be a duology because of how “things go down” but that final twist made me love this novel all the more as I would feel this is definitely a lovely standalone read. It is a first-person romance all from Norah’s perspective, which – at first – I wasn’t sure I’d like but, in the end, it made me take in and enjoy Patrick’s (Paddy) broodiness turned sweet ways even more. I liked how Norah meshed with Patrick’s life without having to try to hard and how Patrick went out of his way to make sure Norah felt comfortable. Together they help one-another in hopes of improving each other’s lives and, in turn, they become friends that turn into lovers. I hope to read about them more as secondary rolls as this series progresses as I really enjoyed them as characters and loved them as a couple. In addition, Patrick’s alpha-ness in the bedroom and their sex scenes was so so HOT!!!!! Awesome plot. Wonderful characters. Creative take on a Cinderellaesque and a fake relationship romance. One gripping read that I loved how it all came together. I DEFINITELY recommend this novel to those who enjoy fake relationship romances that are based around actors as characters. When a scandal tarnishes the reputation of hot as hell A-lister, Patrick Walsh, he needs a reputation rescue, pronto. Enter waitress Norah Peers a nobody who s average with a capital A. She s available, dependable, and has sworn off men for the rest of her natural born life. In other words: the perfect match for a no-strings fake romance. For the right amount of money, she can avoid waitressing and play the part of his dependable down-to-earth girlfriend. What she can t avoid dammit is the growing steam between them. But being hounded by the paparazzi and having your life dissected on social media is a panic attack in the making. And while Patrick might be a charming rogue on screen, in real life he s a six-foot-two confusing, gorgeous, brooding grump, who keeps her at a distance . . . but also makes her feel like this bond between them might be more than just an act. Being dumped on cue should be no big deal. Except being fake with Patrick is the realist relationship Norah has ever had. What s a girl to do, but flip the script, and ask for a rematch made in Hollywood? Non sono state trovate descrizioni di biblioteche |
