I really enjoyed the Cedar Cover series by Debbie Macomber and when i saw this Kindle book, I had to buy it. These short stories each have a connection to someone in one of the original Cedar Cover books. It's a fast fun read and if you enjoyed the series, you need to read this. ( )

I was very excited to learn of a collection of short stories as I loved all the novels in the setting of Cedar Cove and series of the same name and later watched each episode of the three (3) seasons of the series on the Hallmark Channel (2013-2015). I didn't realize until reading the author's latest newsletter that the stories written and published for her digital magazine are now available on Amazon. I didn't read the March newsletter until yesterday (April 1, 2021) but as soon as I read the announcement, I clicked over to Amazon, made my purchase, and read the stories as my first pleasure of bedtime reading.

One of the special treats about this purchase was to read the author's note, "Before the Story." For all fans of the "Cedar Cove" Series it is of particular delight and I hope all who become interested in reading the series through the short stories will also take the time to read this feature. There is information related to the significance of the street addresses for the titles in the series, highlights of some of the cover art, and also why the series is as special to the author as it has become to her readers.

Debbie Macomber's gift of storytelling is through heartwarming characters she shares what is meaningful in every person's life of family and friends and the connections that endure over a lifetime even as they are challenged by relationship changes due to work from business owner to employee to unemployment, to infertility to raising children to empty nest, to illness, to death. A storyteller that gives hope is an inspiration. Debbie Macomber's storytelling is inspiring whether a short story or a novel as the characters created are always people we would either like to know or perhaps use an example of how he/she moved through a challenge as an example of hope.

I can't think of another author that I would more highly recommend to refresh one's spirit of hope. ( )
