This story is interesting. In china, dragon is famous imagination creature.It was good story, don’t you think so? I want to see dragon, but I feel it scared for me. If dragons appeared before me, I’ll hide somewhere or run away as can as possible. I hope dragons are not scary but kind. ( )

The Dragon Painter is about a man who is such a skilled artist, that he is able to paint in such a lifelike manner that his painting of a hawk keeps pigeons away from a statue. When the emperor hears of his skill, the emperor orders him to paint a series of four dragons. The dragons are so lifelike that people are in awe, yet they notice that the dragons have no eyes. The man explains that because of the magical nature of dragons, if the eyes are painted they would come to life. The emperor orders him to paint the eyes anyway. Of course, they come to life, but once again the man saves the day by painting chains on them. This book is a nice little story which provides a glimpse of Japanese culture and a fun take on dragon myth.
