Johnathan King is out to find the one that has tore his world upside down and will stop at nothing to get her back. She is his and his alone even she if she thinks otherwise but she knows deep down where she belongs and that is by his side. Aurora is going through some tough times questioning herself, Johnathan, and everything she thought she knew she doesn’t want to but things are escalating leaving her feeling hopeless and alone. The obstacles standing in her way seem to be building up and even if she thinks she’s alone, she isn’t because Johnathan is by her standing up for her and ready to fight her battles. Not to spoil anything because the series of Royal Elite and Johnathan’s duet are something that need to be experienced and lived by the reader because they are truly amazing so yes this may be a vague review but trust me when I say this King is worth reading and devouring. I will say that I loved seeing the different sides of Johnathan and Aurora is the one that brings these sides out in him, but I loved seeing that even showing some affection towards Aiden and Levi he was still the ruthless King that we fell for from the start. “Aurora Harper sold her soul to the devil. It goes without saying that she’ll never be able to escape me.” “Those eyes aren’t made for tears.” ( ) This author brought her A-game when she wrote this. This book was everything that I have come to love and expect from this author. Filled with suspense, men who push the envelope on being "good", steamy times, and a Great story with lots of twists and turns. Add in superb characters and cameos or interactions from past characters and it was everything that I didn't even know I wanted let alone needed. Jonathan King turned out to be quite the character. I am not sure if I loved him based on his actions alone in this book or if it was the fact that he was closer to my age and I wanted him for myself. There is just something so appealing about him. I loved getting into his head and seeing him in a new light and also seeing what he is thinking. It was nice to know that he did have a heart in that chest of his. Aurora, I felt for her. Especially, when certain things were mirroring Alicia. How hard it would be to have things mirror her sister's life and sanity. I, especially, liked that twist. I did not see the twist coming at the end, but I sure have my interest piqued on a couple of characters (ahem, Ethan is first and foremost. I sure would love to see him tackle Lay). Fantastic ending to this duet. I cannot recommend this author enough. There is something truly special about the way that she crafts a story. She is in a league of her own. She is that good and the reason that she is a one-click author. Much like the Field of Dreams, except instead of building it and having people come, instead, if she writes it then I will read it. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione

Nothing is fair in love. This is my kingdom. My territory.I own everything and control everyone, Aurora included. She shouldn't have barged into my world with no armour. She shouldn't have caught my attention with no warning.Alas, she did. Then she thought she could disappear. If a battle is what it'll take to protect and own her, I'll shed blood.Wars aren't fair, and neither am I.Rise of a Queen is the second part of a duet and is not standalone.
