In my opinion, the book, “Pickle Things” by Marc Brown is one of the greatest children’s books ever created. It was my favorite book when I was a young child, and it continues to entertain me today. This book is a poetry book and resembles one big poem that moves along smoothly and flawlessly. The writing within the book is very engaging, and it is paced well. I love how the book’s funny rhyming words provide a good match to the hysterical illustrations and comical plot. For example, the book opens by stating, “Pickle things you never see like pickles on a Christmas tree.” The book matches a funny scenario with the amusing picture of pickles filling up all the space on a big Christmas tree. However, the plot is what truly makes this story an entertaining read. “Pickle Things” is about imagining different things made out of pickles. “A pickle ear. A pickle nose. Pickle hair. And pickle toes. Pickle candy. Pickle shakes.” The book continues to go on and on about all different things as pickles. The illustrations are unusual and display people that look like cartoon characters. The story closes by saying “Never pickles on your feet. Of course not silly, they’re to eat!” The big idea of this story is to show children that it is fun to imagine things being different, but usually, things are better being just the way they are. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione
