Kimberly has done it yet again! Forbidden Life is my favorite book in the trilogy. My emotions were all over the place while reading. I loved the looks into other characters' point of views.

The story line is fast paced and makes you keep reading. I was putting off household duties to finish this book. ;) I absolutely love the characters. I feel like I know them on a personal level. Except Hunter, I MUST know more about him and his hotness. Just sayin'. There's a lot to that boy.

Everything comes together in this final installment. Some people aren't who you think they are, and we revisit old friends. I never guessed the events took place. I'm always happy when a book takes me by surprise. Kimberly's writing is awesome, and she has a way of showing every emotion in the character. I love her work, and can't wait to read more about IPI.

Follow these special people as they fight for their redemption! ( )

"It ended...it ended...it ENDED" This is what I have been vocalizing for the past half hour. Thank goodness my brain can function enough to enable me to type the words that I, apparently, am unable to speak. What those words are...well...I don't have super powers like the amazingly detailed and realistic characters in this book possess so I need a human minute to think. *tick-tock* (10 minutes go by)...*humming JEOPARDY theme song*...Ah! Ok got it! I figured out what I wanted to say *drumroll*: IT ENDED! Oh boy, I need some serious help. I feel like I just don't know what to do now that this TOO-AWESOME-TO-JUST-BE-CALLED-AWESOME trilogy is over...over...ov-aaaaaaaahhhhhhhh!!!!

Ok, for real? Forbidden Life is crazy INSANE (♪in the membrane♫) and puts the most daring, psychotic, adreneline-junky-who-risks-their-life-to-entertain-the-rest-of-us to shame. And yeah, I saw the video of the guy who jumps out of the capsule from 24 miles up. Impressive (to say the least because that took some serious skill to land on his feet like he did) right? What grounds do I stand on to support such an outrageous claim? The action is INTENSE (like INCEPTION-intense and almost as equally complicated)! It felt like every page someone was doing the impossible (like MISSION IMPOSSIBLE-impossible but better) and taking the meaning of extreme sports to a whole new level. The pacing is great; alternating point views of several characters from chapter to chapter never leave you bored or even a chance to catch your breath!

I had mentioned in my review of Forbidden Mind that the plot was "very ALIAS and DARK ANGEL-like with X-MEN as its backdrop". How so? Take the main character for example: Sam is employed by a super-secret organization that provides her with various false identities to get the job done...until she discovers that she works for the bad guys. Then Sam finds out that she was genetically engineered (test-tube baby) and realizes she has been trained to be like a super-soldier for a very specific purpose. Reasonably, Sam dislikes (really, that's an understatement) the plan laid out for her by her creators and runs away in an attempt to be free and live a normal life. One problem: How normal can one be when they can not only read but can control people's minds? Yeah, see what I mean? Now just because I could identify certain aspects of the Forbidden Trilogy with other published works does not in any way imply that there is no originality. Quite the opposite! It only highlights the genius of Ms.Kinrade, creating a world that is both familiar and unfamiliar; making it her own. The fact that she has 1)seamlessly combined such action-filled movies or televison series(pretty sure that hasn't been done before), 2)described the action so vividly that one feels as if they are actually "watching" scenes from a film, not reading a book and 3)adds so much depth to the wide range of emotions the characters (readers too) experience, changing them for better or worse.

Forbidden Life , as full of butt-kicking as can possibly be (new powers are introduced, yay!), is strongly fueled by emotion; touching on such issues as redemption and forgivness, trust and betrayal, right and wrong. "How do you know what the right decision is?" often came up when a life was in another's hands, deciding their fate.

"Sometimes there are no right decisions, and you are left with the lesser of two evils."

Is there really a point of no return?

I screwed up in the most unforgivable way, but I'm back now, and I'll never leave either of you again. I swear. Can you forgive me?" I pulled out of his arms and stepped back enough to gain perspective. Could I forgive him? Would he hurt me again? "I will," I decided. "I will forgive you, but not yet. I'm not ready. It will take time."

What does it mean to truly sacrifice?

Luke smiled through his tears. "I told you, Sis, I'd always look out for you." She smiled back, but didn't want him to be hurt. Please, Luke, don't sacrifice yourself like this.

These thought provoking questions cause much pain and suffering to our beloved Sam, Drake, Lucy, and Luke. Will they find the answers that lead to happiness? Can they make the right decisions? Are there any "right" decisions? This masterfully written conclusion to a suspensful, thrilling, heart breaking, and fascinating series will have readers on a rollercoaster that may just blow their minds...and enjoy every second. ^.^

He wrapped Mary's shirt around two bars and started twisting. It took Lucy a second, but she almost laughed when she figured out the reference. She'd seen that in a Jackie Chan movie. He'd peed on his shirt and then did what Drake was doing to pull the bars in the cell together in order to escape. She really hoped he hadn't peed on Mary's shirt. Didn't Myth Busters prove that it didn't work?

Building to a climax for the main characters, this third book in the trilogy brings the characters into the most difficult and life-effecting decisions they have yet been faced with. There is a stronger feeling of sci-fi to this book, highlighting the author’s ability to world-build and integrate new elements without losing the other elements that readers have come to love and enjoy. The kids are all growing up, and facing decisions that are, if possible, even more adult-like than any before.

Additional character perspectives are added as we are introduced to even more obstacles for the familiar characters to face, building the tension in this entertaining installment. This story provides a new insight into the backgrounds of the kids and their would-be controllers, while possibly turning some of your previously held thoughts on their ear.

This story nicely wraps up most of the questions, and will leave you satisfied when you turn the final page, but you will find that the characters and questions about “where are they now” will stay with you. With a skill for developing point of view and maintaining a near breakneck pace in the action, the author has crafted a conclusion to this series that will delight. A good series read for an older YA reader (15 ).

I was provided an eBook from the author for purpose of honest review for Innovative Online Book tours. I was not compensated for this review, and all conclusions are my own responsibility.

Check out my blog, for the book tour. Here is direct link to the post for this book, and read the first chapter too, Michelle's Paranormal Vault of Books. http://concisebookreviewsbymichelle.blogspot.com/2012/11/book-tour-forbidden-lif...

Ok, I really didn’t think that this series could get better, as its so darn good anyway, but it did, it got even better. For those who are not yet familiar with this series (where have you been? Hiding under a rock? Lol) This series is a lot like X-Men/Dark Angel, with some Alphas (scifi channel show I love) , then throw in a little of Covert Affairs (spy show I watch) and you have the Forbidden Trilogy! We have some new hotness in this one too, named Hunter Riley! Boy is he hot and all made, whew, see the postcard I posted.

In this book, its about Sam, Drake, Luke, and Lucy, now with Hunter, and the IPI agents who are helping them free the other Para-powers kids (paranormal abilities, think X-men) then of course the arrival if Ana, Sam and Drakes baby. (she is still a virgin, the horrible Rent-A-Kids foundation impregnated her , as they want her baby for the powers it will have, they figured Drake and Sam’s powers combined would be unstoppable.)

This one has some excitement all over the place, we have poor Luke and Lucy, playing Survivor on a isolated island, that has weird stuff going on (think Lost, lol) but with some weird creatures and other strange happenings. Lucky for them, the other IPI agents had set up camp there, so they get hooked up with them, and this is where Hunter comes on the scene, and Lucy and Hunter hit it off. (I won’t get into details, but Luke and Lucy were on a mission to save the youngest para-kids, and the plane crashed, they jumped out) But I want to leave this as spoiler free as I can, let’s just say, some major Mission Impossible stuff goes on, none stop action and suspense. It will keep you on the edge of your seat and up to the wee hours of the morning to finish reading it! Hunger Games fans will love this, as well any anyone who likes the paranormal and scifi type books, heck, even romance, as there is more of it in this one.

Here is a funny part with Luke and Lucy on the island:

Did you know that apes share a very similar genetic makeup to humans, and that if humans ate more like apes, they'd be much healthier? Well, apes eat a lot of green leafy vegetables, but guess where they get their protein?"
Luke shrugged.
"You're not going to guess? Fine. I'll tell you anyway. They get it from bugs found in their greens. Bugs like this one. I'm not saying we should start serving it for dinner at home, but for now, when we're so depleted from using our powers, being attacked, jumping from a plane, swimming through an ocean and passing out on a deserted island, yeah, I think we need to get some protein in us however we can. And since you are apparently too chewy, it's Bug Brunch time."

Here is another hilarious part that had me cracking up with Lucy and the hunk Hunter!

"Would you like to hold my sword?" He asked the question with a gleam in his eyes.
Lucy burst out laughing. At least she didn't giggle again. "You did not just say that. But, um, yeah, I'd like to hold your sword, Agent Riley."
Hunter grinned and unzipped his backpack, pulling out something surprisingly small. He held it out to her, and noticed the disappointed look on her face. "Expecting something bigger?"
She smirked at his continued play on words. She had a lifetime of training in verbal and physical sparring; he was no match for her. "They say size doesn't matter, but I disagree."
Hunter, who apparently hadn't expected her response, choked on his own comeback and unsheathed the sword, then placed it in her hand. "You have to stroke it a certain way to make it bigger."

Drake is off on his own, spiraling down in self-loathing. He has hit bottom, but he may have found a way to get his powers back, but what will it cost him? I am not telling!
Ana is in danger, Sam will do anything to protect her, and they find out that Ana is the key to everything.
This is a must read trilogy, this final installment left me satisfied, but exited too. Didn’t get enough of Hunter, but still loved it.
Joining the IPI with me, be a part of it. Details at Kimberly’s website and FB page.

5 out of 5 stars for me. Loved it!!
