I'm giving this a 3.75*. I felt like there were flow problems that knocked that .25* off. Otherwise, I totally enjoyed it.

The world as we know it has ended. A virus has burned through the world, killing off all the humans. All that's left are the shifters and the vampires, and they are pretty much constantly at war. Most of the remaining packs are squabbling back and forth over territory, food, and mates. However, Erik's pack isn't like that. They were nearly self-sufficient before the world ended a decade ago, and it's no different now. They hide behind a strong wall and live in their relative paradise. One day on a hunting trip, he finds something he doesn't expect.

Corey is a rare Omega. He doesn't shift, but when he mates with a true Alpha, good things happen all around. He's been mistreated and passed around, and he's run away from his old pack and has been hiding in the woods ever since. Luckily, Erik finds him and brings him into his town and pack, because he recognizes his mate.

The chemistry between Corey and Erik is way off the chart, I mean smoking hot. Their sex scenes are hot. The subplot with James was interesting, and I think I would've enjoyed seeing just a little bit more of that plot in the story. I think it would have been a nice contrast to the sweet, sexy, and lovely romance that Corey and Erik have. But, not having it didn't ruin my enjoyment of the story. It was a nice, quick read, and now I'm going to go back and read the rest of the series. ( )
