Eldon’s playtime First, let me say I buy everything the author releases. And re-read often. This series is my ‘snack food’ reading, for when I need to clear my brain after trying some truly awful novels. Even for the flaws in the various novels, this is still some of the highest quality writing. It has a natural flow and avoids soliloquies or long bouts of navel gazing that often get repetitive in long series. It’s anti-depression and energizing, engaging my imagination in ways other writers do not. My reason for 4 instead of 5 stars may be a bit persnickety. Eldon isn’t in real danger until too late in the book. While he *is* scrambling a bit, early, for the most part he is OP compared to everyone he faces. That works with his character, but it makes the plot feel a little empty and unconvincing. Once the pursuit begins you start to see him struggle a bit, but that is very late in the book. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione
