Marie is an interesting character and I love the way that Karen Hamilton wrote her.

Every time I thought I had figured out what was going to happen, Karen pivoted the story and i was left on the edge of my seat trying to figure it all out.

I will definitely be looking for more of Karen Hamilton's books in the future. ( )

This is a domestic thriller with a quite unlikeable main character. There were lots of twists and revelations along the way. This is my first time reading this author and I would like to read more books by her as I was entertained and engaged throughout my reading of the book.

Now I've read all three of Karen Hamilton's novels and what a collection she has produced! I am so impressed with her writing -- page turning, to say the least! They are VERY hard to put down when the main character in each book is the narrater, telling you her story from her point of view and that is the way we see all of the other characters. What will Hamilton come up with NEXT????? ( )

What I hoped would be a quick paced, thrilling rollercoaster fell a bit flat for me. Dragging in the middle a bit, almost too predictible, and a lot of characters that seemed to be trying too hard to have their own histories or to have some deep dark sinister secrets.

As the main character is dying, her best friend is angling to seemlessly slip into her life. I wasn't a fan of the husband from the beginning - something just didn't sit right with me, and maybe it was supposed to be that way. All told, I wasn't very thrilled and at times was bored. I pushed through and found the end interesting.

This book was missing something for me. The story started out strong but fizzled out quickly. The secrets Nina was hiding kept being alluded to but not much happens until the end of the book. Pacing was very slow, so I couldn’t believe how much was left when I got almost halfway through.
