This moving book made me reflect on my own life. Reading about how one woman set out to help those less fortunate made me feel guilty that I do not do more to help those in my own community that are less fortunate than me.
As a classroom activity, I would ask my students what they could do to make their community a better place. Then I would challenge them go out and do it.
