I am going to call this my get away from everything relaxation book. Just opening the first page I felt a calmness. It was as if someone with a soothing voice was reading the book to me. Each page is beautifully illustrated and the words are encouraging and hopeful. I loved going through the pages and seeing blankets to snuggle in as winter comes while reading thoughts about how we spend winter.

Each page is something new to explore and it sure did bring up memories of long forgotten times of fun and family. My favorite drink was nestled in the pages and I could almost taste the warm hot chocolate as it slid down my throat to bring happiness. My favorite though from the book says, " letting go when it's time and .....gratefully receiving what's next." I think this would be a great present to give to a special friend to cheer them up. encourage them and bring joy to their life.

Winter Whispers is book #4 in the Breath of Joy series. Winter Whisper is a visual journey that allows you to think about your winter season memories. Beautifully written. It was such a joy to be able to read this book. Breath of Joy is an inspirational book. It reminded me that God is here with us even in the most difficult of times in our lives. Kathy Joy takes you into the journey of the winter season through beautifully done poetry and photography. There are so many heartwarming words and pictures. This is a perfect book for devotions, meditation or just a relaxing book before bed. This is my first Kathy Joy book and it won't be the last. ( )

Ponderings, and thoughts galore, along with pictures, to improve your mood, you will be page turning to see them all.
Whether you read one a day, or peruse the whole book, you will soon be going back and slower as each page is a gem in itself.
Think about catching a scent that carries a memory, yes, many.
How about “An awkward hello and a tearful goodbye”, through the years there are many, or when you have “mismatched mittens, soggy boots, and wayward scarves”.
What a beautiful thoughtful gift this one makes, and it quickly becomes the gift that keeps on giving.

This book contains pictures that are a feast for the eyes and as I read the words that accompany them, I kept thinking "Oh, how true!" Breath of Joy: Winter Whispers is filled with reminders of the Winter season and the special days that fall during this time. Christmas, Valentine's Day, and Groundhog Day are featured but there are so many other ordinary days that can turn into 'special'. In a season that is sometimes hard for people--the cold, the snow, the isolation that we sometimes feel when we are housebound--author Kathy Joy shares the joys and promises that Winter holds. Finding good will for another's joy, and...knowing that spring is stirring just beneath the surface. She also gives us many reasons to celebrate: an unplanned adventure...an unexpected answer...and an unhurried day. And, for me, the best reason of all--Being God's Child, chosen and dearly loved, redeemed and loved for a royal purpose.

As I browsed this book, I was often reminded of certain places or special times and Kathy Joy's words are both comforting and encouraging as they offer me a greater insight into the glory of God's Creation. "Winter Whispers" truly is a "Breath of Joy"!

This book is amazing in both the words on the pages and the photographs and other images combined to create a beautiful image in the reader’s mind. As I turned through the pages of the ebook, I recognized this was a book I would prefer to hold in my hands. It is a book that could and should be displayed for others to read and enjoy.

The pictures and words flow seamlessly together. As someone who loves the winter months and enjoys the snow, living in southeastern Texas for almost the past four years has created a longing to be back where snow is again. This book fulfilled that longing. Although I have not read the other books in this series, I now can say I definitely plan to get the series as physical books to have and to enjoy throughout the year. Truly this is a book to be reexamined and pondered.
