When your past comes back to town, and will take away your greatest dream, what is a lady to do? Add in several sets of twins, the perfect elderly grandmotherly babysitter, and more, and this story provides an incredibly touching story. Sometimes we know God walks beside us, but we still doubt everything around us, including our own worth. Nick and Joy fell in love and planned on marrying, but circumstances changed. Now he returns to town as a widower and father. The two seek to move forward with their lives. Perhaps dreams of being a mother to twins caused this book to resonate with me. Or the idea of forgiving ourselves for past mistakes as God offers forgiveness when we repent of our sins made me continue reading this book. This book captured my imagination and heart – especially Jordan, one of Nick’s twins whose gentle soul and quiet nature. Truly, I enjoyed reading this book. So check it out for yourself. I received a complimentary copy of this book, but it in no way influenced my review. All opinions are my own. Who doesn’t love a second chance story? And one with adorable twin boys equals double the delight. Having given up on one dream, Joy is looking forward to realizing another…until her former flame comes to town vying for the same principal position. Not only does Joy get to face Nick at school, but she also gets to watch him with his twin boys right across the street from her home. Jill Weatherholt packs tons of emotion in A Mother for His Twins. Both Joy and Nick have regrets from their past. Both are holding onto guilt and shame for those same things. But two little boys (one with a big personality and the other with a big heart) make them face truths about forgiving themselves and embracing what God has in store for them. Disclosure statement: I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book and was not required to write a positive review. All opinions are my own. The story is a wonderful example of second chances, forgiveness and new beginnings. I loved the setting of a small town where the people are friendly and always ready to help. Joy is a gifted teacher whose heart is to be principal of the school where her father once was. I liked that she wanted to continue the legacy of her father and make a difference in children’s lives. You can sense her compassion for children as she looks forward to being with them each school day. Nick is easy to like with his big heart and two adorable twin boys. When he comes back to the town he grew up in, Joy is quite surprised. He left unexpectedly as a teenager and broke Joy’s heart. I couldn’t wait to find out why his family vanished one night. The author slowly unravels the past that both Nick and Joy have each hidden from each other. What I really liked about the story was how faith was used as we relived the nightmare that Joy endured the night Nick left town. She may have felt abandoned, hurt and ashamed but God was right there to comfort her. I don’t think Joy has really processed that night until Nick comes back into the picture. There are some very touching moments when Joy begins to trust Nick. Letting her guard down shows her she can trust others and allow herself to love again. Nick not only has to deal with explaining to Joy why he left that night but also the guilt he feels about his wife’s death. This part was well written as he breaks down and releases his anguish he has had for so long. He never felt like he did enough to help his wife when she became ill, but God gave him peace as he let go of the past. The twins in the story steal the show for me. They are precious and full of life. It is obvious they are close to their dad and I think that helps them work through the death of their mother. The author has packed this story with lessons on letting go of the past so it doesn’t hold you from happiness. Learning to forgive allows Nick and Joy to rekindle their relationship which I enjoyed reading. It wasn’t rushed but slowly developed as God worked on their hurt that they have allowed to hinder them from finding love again. It is a great story with an ending that really highlighted blending a family with faith. I received a copy of this book from Celebrate Lit. The review is my own opinion A Mother for His Twins, by Jill Weatherholt, is book three in A Fresh Start Family Romance series. While these are great stand alone stories, this story bring back characters from the second in the series. I enjoyed the characters in the story, especially the young twin boys. It is a easy, quick to ready, heart warming story. Just as Joy is hoping to interview for the job of her dreams, ex-boyfriend Nick appears, also hoping to get the job. I enjoyed this story so much. I enjoyed how quickly Nick's sons and Joy's niece became quick friends and how her niece called him uncle Nick. I appreciate how Nick took he extra steps to try to work out a way both of them could work the job. This is such a good story to read to just get lost in. I received a complimentary copy of this book, this is my honest review. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione
