415 Ink: Book Three. From the moment SFPD Detective Ruan Nicholls meets Ivo Rogers, he knows the tattoo artist is going to bring chaos to his neat, orderly life. A hellion down to the bone, Ivo is someone Ruan not only doesn't understand, he's not even sure he needs to. Everything about Ivo is vibrant, brash, cocky, and arrogant, and Ruan wants no part of him. Or at least that's the lie he tells himself when he damps down his desire for the social wild child life tosses into his path. For Ivo Rogers, life revolves around two things-his family and 415 Ink, the tattoo shop he co-owns with his four brothers. His family might be stitched together by their battle scars from growing up in foster care, but their brotherhood is tight-and strong enough to hold Ivo together during the times when he falls apart. Now Ivo faces a new challenge when he falls for a cop with an old-school mentality on how a man looks and acts. Ruan is the promise of a life Ivo thought he'd never have, but their clashing perspectives threaten any chance of a relationship. Being the family's hellion makes it easy to be misunderstood, yet Ivo has faith Ruan will not only embrace who he is but love him as well.… (altro)

The brothers have a unique and special relationship even though there are so many different personalities between the five of them. They all are above and beyond loyal, to one another, to their friends and to the causes they whole-heartedly believe in. It was no surprise to see them become a little overbearing when Ivo, the baby of the five...finds someone he "likes"...hoping to eventually it would become a lot more than merely "like". Ivo and Ruan have a few rough spots. They are both young, but Ivo is wise almost beyond what you would expect for his age and that’s why he fit so well with Ruan. Both guys could also be said to be a bit on the domestic" side. It was a nice change to have a character like Ivo, who’s eccentric, willing to bring his cop boyfriend meals at work and willing to feed his cat and do his laundry. Things that many wouldn't consider "manly", maybe I could borrow him:) Ruan wasn’t really sure how he felt or how to handle things. He had another more private side that was quite interesting but unexpected and "off the norm". Overall, though, this was another phenomenal book by Rhys Ford with wonderful characters. It's a great addition to the 415 Ink series. It was also good that nobody had to die for Ivo and Ruan to reach their happiness. ( )

I really liked this book.

My problem with this series is that I 'm dying to read Bear's story. Dying

When Rhys? WHEN? ( )

I enjoyed this novel, despite the odd relationship pacing. Or maybe because it was odd, I'm not sure. I was a little disappointed that adult Ivo is calmer, but I liked how he and Ruan had to work their way through their conflicts, and I liked that the Detective did not somehow have endless time to devote to that. Those parts felt annoyingly real. I liked what they could give each other.

I think this one could have been a lot more fraught. But I'm not sad it isn't, even though it means Gus's story is still my favorite. So far. The last scene is Luke's. That novel should be fraught as heck, we know so little about his past. ( )
