This is a beautiful coffee table book that many will enjoy flipping through. It is filled with wonderful imaginary in the form of photographs, paintings and news clippings. The first half of the book is a well written autobiography. It gives both a brief background on Dr. Maki's career and his introduction and work into the competitive sport of Tandem Surfing. I am not a surfer yet I was captivated at his dedication to his set goals and the beauty of both the sport and the locations they take place in. Dr. Maki has found a sport that he cannot only enjoy, challenge himself and keep him fit. This is a enjoyable read. ( )
