Motorcycle clubs are not one of my favorite subjects, but this one was fairly mild, and it was a good group of guys...well except for Keye's father. Luckly, he didn't have much time in the story except at the very first. Alec is an upcoming DA whose father has high aspirations for him to become a judge. He doesn't want any part of it. Why it just didn't tell his father to get lost was beyond me. This is only the first book in the series so maybe he will grow a backbone in the next book. Keyes is a biker. Together they are pretty explosive. I really liked Keyes. I liked him as a person and his attitude toward life in general. Their chemistry is explosive creating enough sparks to burn down the entire town. They each thought they were too different, but actually they aren't all that different except in their bank accounts. They do start to communicate more by the half-way point of the story. It took me a little while to get into this book...even though I was I was more than invested in Alec and Keyes story. Alec's friend can use some work...but maybe he'll drop him by the second book. We can only hope. The story is told from a duel POV, which is easy to read. I like getting into both characters heads. I really hope book 2 has more of the answers to Alec and Keys relationship and what Alec intends to do about a position that he never wanted. I believe there is 3 or 4 ore books in the series and I am anxiously waiting for the climax. Glad I picked it up. As I said it's not something I would normally read. ( )

On the positive side, I did believe the chemistry between these two guys from different sides of the tracks.

But overall, it was just ok. Part of it is me... I apparently don't really go for the bad boy! But I just feel like, for this trope, there's this balance where you have to establish believably that the two are risking a lot to be together (that was good here) and also that there's something special enough about the relationship that it's worth the risk (not so much. Need more than just sex!).

There's a fair bit of political intrigue set up early on, and I was also disappointed that none of it was wrapped up. Pretty much a TBC. ( )

Another new Kindle Alexander book, and it makes he so happy. Keyes and Alec are two completely different guys from very different worlds, but they come together here and find contentment that they haven't known before. There were quite a few loose ends that were not cleared up, and I wouldn't even call this an HEA. It is definitely an HFN type book, which is a bummer, but at least there will be another one coming. I think I would have loved it a little better if they guys were a bit more on solid ground with each other.
Definite case of opposites attract, and I can't wait to find out how they are able to make things work so they can be together.

I was really enjoying this book. Yes, was... It's not perfect, not by a long shot to be honest. In a situation such as these MCs find themselves, the extremes of their lives and the fact that there needs to be absolute secrecy, timelapses of months just doesn't really feel realistic. I felt we were missing things, and there were definitely happenings left up in the air and unfinished. While I'm sure they will be addressed in later books, I would have rather had more now. Especially towards the last half of the book I felt the plot became almost secondary to the sex scenes. They were plentiful and detailed. I'd rather have had less sex and more info on their relationship, and the relationships the MCs had with others.

And don't get me started on the ending! Abrupt is an understatement. I'd honestly barely call it a HFN to be honest. While the authors assure us Keyes and Alec's story will be continued in the next book, it was still a real shock when it just... well just stopped! ( )

Loved this book. The author makes you love both Keyes and Alec, two very different men from very different worlds, yet somehow they found each other. I am cheering for them and can’t wait for part two.
