This is a very basic fact book about Frankenstein a book about Hollywood Monsters. The origin of Frankenstein is discussed as well as what he is. The author discusses the fact that Mary Shelley wrote the story in 1814 as part of a contest when she was 19 years old and won. The book was published in 1918 with no name and was labeled as “horrible” and “disgusting”. In 1831 it was reprinted with her name on the cover. As for the Hollywood aspect of the book, in 1910 a short film was made by Thomas Edison. It was one of the first horror films ever made. Frankenstein is still popular to this day and there have been sequels to the original movie. The first movie starred Boris Karloff in 1931. I would recommend this for fans of horror movies and anyone interested in learning how the movie came to be. The photographs are a nice addition to the book and it will bring back some nostalgic moments for many people. ( )
