I'd go back and read them but they don't seem to be available anyplace that works for me. Anyway, it's urban fantasy, set in New Orleans (which I always enjoy) and it's pretty good. It does have a lot of the UF tropes - kick-ass female lead, love triangle, supernatural creatures of various kinds, so if you've read much in the genre it may not seem terribly original. It worked for me, though.Questa recensione è stata scritta per Recensori in anteprima di LibraryThing. I received this book as an early reviewer copy. It was interesting but since I had not read the first two books in the series, it was hard to follow the storyline. Bits and snippets that told of preceding events helped. I would advise reading the first books in the series before the third. The basic story is about warring factions of the supernatural community and a love story is woven throughout. If you’re a fan of horror, fantasy, etc., this book is for you. Questa recensione è stata scritta per Recensori in anteprima di LibraryThing. Gods & Demons is the third and final book in Melissa Sercia's Blood & Darkness series. I like series that don't go on for too long, as often I find that in the 15th book in the series, it becomes a bit monotonous and as as reader I become disinterested in the characters. It's why I appreciated this series, three books was enough to pack in all the action, mystery and intrigue. However, I did find the world building to be a little rushed at times and character's motivations not explained as they could have been. The final novel was well paced, characters were better fleshed out than previous books and the plot twists were both welcome and unexpected. I wasn't that into the love triangle, there seemed to be far too many guys wanting Gray's heart. I think if there was one aspect that didn't gel it was the number of men liking Grey. Adding another one in this book was not needed. The New Orleans setting is always a favourite of mine so I really enjoyed the mystic which surrounds that city and Sercia does well to create a vibrancy which I attribute to New Orleans. Great end to the series. Will be reading more from Sercia as I enjoyed her writing style. Questa recensione è stata scritta per Recensori in anteprima di LibraryThing. Fantasy, magic and love, what more could you want from a book. Although this is the first book of the trilogy I have read, I am intrigued to find out how the story started, so I will be reading the the previous two books, so I may enjoy the whole story from beginning to end. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione

Plot:
Demons have escaped the Underworld and threaten New Orleans. It’s up to Gray to get rid of them – or accept the destruction of the human world. Gray knows that she can’t do it alone. She has to invoke the Hades Protocol, calling the Gods themselves for help. But a God’s help doesn’t come without its price – and there are forces that would like to see the world destroyed in any case.
Gods and Demons is again an improvement compared to the other two novels of the series, but its still far from being good enough for me to really like it. I’m pretty glad that I have reached the end of the series (for now, at least) and don’t think I’ll continue reading it should Sercia choose to continue.
