Kia Krumpet has a dream, but to achieve that dream she needs to get into the Piedmont Inventors Prep School (aka PIPS) which is much easier said than done. She is teamed up with four other girls and sent off to camp Piedmont in order to compete with 49 other teams for a coveted spot at PIPS and prove themselves as one of the best young inventors in the country. Will they make it? I rated this book 5 stars because the world its set in (60 years in the future and teeming with fun sci-fi elements) is engaging and interesting, and the challenge of making it into PIPS keeps the readers interested through the whole novel. I think this is a great book for anyone interested in science to read, and it shows that failure is part of the scientific process and its an obstacle to overcome, not a sign that you should give up.
