This book was a very easy read. I think it will be great for young children to understand who this great man was. Martin Luther King Jr. was part of the Civil Rights Movement. He had a dream to end segregation. The illustration of this book was accurate to each page read. ( )

This book about Martin Luther King Jr. was very similar to the other book I read about him. This book gave the same timeline and facts about Martin but presented the information in a different way. I enjoyed reading about how big of an impact he had in the Civil Rights Movement again. I think that this book is a little simpler than the other. I also liked the way that this book emphasized how big Martin Luther King was on peace and peaceful protests. It teaches students that standing for something and trying to make a change does not have to be violent. ( )

Beginning readers who can read on their own will learn about the milestones in Dr. Martin Luther King Jr’s life in this biography. The writing style combines a traditional, illustrated narrative with historical illustrations at the back of book, including a timeline and interesting facts about the the civil rights movement, peaceful protesting and being a leader. A well written early reader biography of his life growing up, his leading of the Civil Rights movement, and how he became a strong leader for America. ( )
