I'm reviewing the Temptation Trials by B Truly. Here are my thoughts:

^^ For their love to survive, Cali and Stefani, and their boyfriends, must sign up for the Temptation Trials, a reality TV show where every temptation is laid before them. If they don't take this route, however, it's fine. It just means they'll just have to submit to the Regime's will that rules all matters, including those of the heart, and the goverment will assign them a partner for life when they turn 21 years of age. When you've already found your
true love, which choice would you prefer?

^^ This adult dystopian romance has a really great premise and I thoroughly enjoyed this stepping into the main characters shoes and seeing what this world threw at them. And I can tell you, it wasn't as easy as they thought it would be, they were really pushed to their limits. Just imagine how it would feel to be forced to enter a reality TV show in order to prove your love.

^^ Having this set after World War III under a dictatorship, where control is their number one priority - especially over love - made this a real treat for me. This is just the sort of story I like to get my teeth stuck into.

^^ Each character has their own point of view in 1st person, and there are two main couples in this story. When they get to the island all the men are separated from the women and the fun (for the reader) begins. I found it to be a little on the slow side to begin with, but once you get to the action, you'll not
be able to stop reading until it's finished!

^^ I enjoyed reading about the world B. Truly created for these characters. There's love triangles, temptations galore and even an underground group of resistance fighters opposing the government regime. Very exciting.

^^ But when the show has been on for several seasons and no one has passed the trials yet, what chance have they got? Or is there something else going on?

^^ This reminded me of a mix of books, The Handmaids Tale, The Hunger Games and even a tad of Battle Royale, only a much sexier version.

^^ There are a few brilliant surprises along the way, but what an ending! Nooooooo! Don't make me wait for another book! Now I have to add the next book to my TBR list, because I've got to know how it continues...

Overall: An entertaining, deliciously sexy read set in a controlling dystopian world I just loved.

Temptation Trials by B Truly is one of the more unique dystopian novels I've read. After World War III, the earth is united under a global dictatorship with strict rules governing all aspects of life. While dating is not forbidden, falling in love has its consequences. At the age of twenty-one, spouses are assigned. They may be in the same city or half-way across the world, it doesn't matter. There is one way to escape the arranged marriage though. The Temptation Trials is a government sponsored reality show designed to throw all manner of temptations at lovers. Men go to one place, women to another. If they make it to the end, they are free.

Cali never liked the show, and certainly never expected to enter. But she and her friend Stefani are unwilling to give up the men they've fallen in love with and so they enter. However, they underestimate just how strong the temptations can be. Will they be able to stay strong?

So, I found the premise quite interesting, combining reality show, with arranged marriage. The writing was good. I loved the reason the Temptation Trials were so hard! And gods be a good, I am glad we don't live in that world. It as a quick read, and my only real qualm was the cliffhanger ending. I can read the second part soon though, so no biggie there.
