This sweet novel combines deep faith in God, second chances, and family ties. Mia Robinson, an independent woman with a mission to work with an International aid organization receives a disconcerting phone call from her pregnant niece who is planning on eloping. Mia's life direction changes and she moves to a small town to give support and hopefully wisdom to her cherished relative, Lucy. Lucy is madly in love with Sam, a son of a fallen officer being mentored by Jake Tanner, a former policeman. Mia has been burned by love too many times to consider romance in any shape and Jake figures life will be good if he can make a difference in young men's lives. Lucy and Sam, at times seem more mature than Mia and Jake but they all have life lessons to learn. God opens doors they do not see and closes doors they think they want just like so many of us. I received a copy of this book from NetGalley and was under no obligation to post anything but my honest review which I have done. Thank you to Bethany House Publishers for sending me this for review. “Life exploded all around them in colors and sounds as ordinary and spectacular as a sunset.” I will admit, this was a cover read for me. I was not expecting much, but it blew me away. The writing style was amazing. There were so many amazing quotes in just the first few chapters that I wanted to share them all. The writing itself will pull you in and you will not want to put this down. Amazing writing aside, the plot was also really good. This will instantly pull you in and grab your attention. Cancer, dog rescues, Alzheimer’s, loss, love, and so much more. There were a few times the story started to drag, but then something else would come your way to pull you back in. I also like the message about God and believing in the path He has set out for each of us. I think this was really well done, and used exactly at the right times within the story. I found myself really enjoying the spiritual message within in this book. Overall, I really enjoyed this and look forward to reading some other work by Victoria Bylin. I loved this wonderfully written romance. This has two stories. There are Mia and Jake and Sam and Lucy. All four people learn to trust in God and each other. Sam and Lucy will have many obstacles to get through in there life having started out so young in their lives. Mia and Jake were my favorite couple in the book. They go through many obstacles to get together. I received a copy of this book from the author for a fair and honest opinion that I gave of my own free will. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione
