I was enthusiastic about reading this book because it's by "The Oatmeal". I didn't love it, but since I don't have a dog I guess I'm not the target audience. It did bring a smile on my face though. Would recommend to dog lovers.

Nice small quick read and freaking hilarious! It's basically a different view of how two dogs would be as middle aged men instead... he he... men running around the yard and pooping. I couldn't stop laughing at this gem of a book! ( )

Look, I love The Oatmeal, Matthew Inman’s online comic. Whenever he posts something new I’m all over it and enjoy most of his work. This “book” was a disappointment. The concept is fine, funny in spots though not laugh out loud for me. But I’m not a pet owner so probably someone who actually has dogs would get more enjoyment out of it. But the reason I put book in quotes is because it’s only 31 pages. Not sure how much this will retail for but I probably wouldn’t buy it for anyone I know.

I have been laughing deep jolly belly laughs for close to a decade thanks to Matthew Inman, the twisted monkey brain behind Web comic The Oatmeal. His dastardly comics include such classics as a Mother-Effin Pterodactyl who pisses acid, an analysis of cats plotting against you, and a compendium about the proper usage of the semi-colon. Let's not forget 'How to Punch a Dolphin in the mouth'.

The Oatmeal has made a nice business of coffee table books collecting Inman's artwork and making it available offline and in eBook format. 'Dogs Pair Middle-Aged Men' is exactly that. A whole mess of hilarious relatable pages.

This is perfect for those nights you are too drunk to work the Internet on your iPhone but still, want to prove to some foolish bar patron that you are hip. Like riding a bike, it is hard to forget your 'turn pages' skills. This collected volume of comic strips will make you pee yourself just a little tiny bit and but not so much your intoxicated sex-time buddy can tell.

You've seen those "if humans acted like dogs" videos, right? This is basically The Oatmeal's take on that. Cute, though the live action versions win on sheer absurdity. 3.5 stars.
