Her latest plan consists of fixing and listing her late father's house. When her perfect idea backfires and leaves her bank account in need of a reno, will a father son duo become the biggest change of her life? Heatherly Bell always wins with her stories of courage, optimism and new beginnings. Matt and Sarah learn the meaning of love, one brick at time, by rebuilding. For Matt that means learning the meaning of fatherhood as he seeks to bond with his son. For Sarah, it means letting go of the past and looking forward to the future. Airman to the Rescue is a fixer upper of the heart. Not always easy but rewarding in the end. ( ) Sarah McAllister has no luck. Not when it comes to men, fathers or apparently subcontractors. Sarah's parents were divorced when she was young. Her parents, in the infinite wisdom, decided to split the kids up. Her father took their son, Stone, to raise & she was left with her mother. As she grew up, she decide it was disloyal to leave her mother & stopped visiting. Another layer of hurt piled on when her father didn't fight to see her. Matt was the town golden boy until he screwed up. Typical teenage hormones ended up in a baby. So instead of going to a fancy college, he enlisted in the military. It was the only way he could think of to support his son. Now he flies planes for his best friend's charter service, is trying to salvage a relationship with his son & has the hots for his best friend's sister. When her subcontractor is arrested for stealing his clients money, Matt steps in to help her finish the renovation in exchange for a free room. Heatherly Bell has written an excellent book about two hurt & damaged people finding their way to each other. They both have a journey they need to travel before they can forge a relationship. Matt needs to learn to trust - his emotions, his decisions, his son & Sarah. Sarah needs to deal with her insecurities, her mother, her bad decisions when she was younger & her false impression & hurt over her father's supposed lack of love for her. They have come from dysfunctional broken families & need to grow beyond them. These characters are well developed with nuances that give added depth. Sarah's art & insecurity in it just adds another dimension. Hunter is a great supporting character. This is a great addition to the series but can also be read as a stand alone. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione
