4 stars for the obvious thought that went into these essays and for the really good ones(blindness was my favorite). There were some that I breezed through because I didn't really care(war and moral philosophy, being 2 of them) but there were others that I enjoyed.

He definitely liked the old-fashioned "state the fact or conclusion then give twenty stories that prove said conclusion" style. It's not bad but can get repetitive. ( )

In this text, some of the works of William James are collected together. All of them discuss Morality and Religion as you may have guessed. It's actually quite good. The only faults I found are due to some anachronisms which are hardly the fault of Mr. James. I mostly picked it up for the morals part of the book, but the faith part wasn't really bad either.

Each part is rather short, since it is a collection of essays, but there is nothing wrong with that.

I did have to look up some words that I wasn't clear on, like zymotic (pertaining to fermentation) and trull(an archaic term for a prostitute), but other than that it was very interesting. ( )
