I'm struggling to find the words to do this story justice in my review. So I came up with this hashtag:

#EveryStoryGetsBetter

Katy Regnery has this way to suck you into a world and get lost in the characters. It's everything I expect in my preferred reading genre. And Marry Me Mad does not disappoint. Ms. Regnery continues the readers journey around Blueberry Lane with a stop at the Rousseaus. First with Jax and now twin Madeline's story. What I love best about the Rousseaus books? Each one has felt real and relatable. Yes, they may have money to support their dreams. But things like that naughty feeling, jealousy, can lead to misunderstanding and reactions that us mere mortals battle. And our hero, Cort, oh my swoonworthy! The reader can feel how hopelessly, deeply and heartbreaking in love he is with Mad. In everyday things, she is first for him.

This is just one of several simple lines that had me laugh then swoon. Because wow - just wow! this character had me at:
"And in related news: What the fuck?"
And trust me you will believe that the harp is the most sensual instrument on this earth after reading this book. Then there is Mad. At certain point I wanted to 'Moonstruck' her with a "Snap out of it!". But really, Mad reacted from emotion and frustration so who wouldn't? I got her and love her for it.

Now, here where I leave the script from my normal recommendations. Don't worry I'm still a staunch believer in "do not series hop". Yes, this story is written in the same timeline as Book #1: Jax's story. But really. If you have never read a Katy Regnery Blueberry Lane book, you can pick this story up, get immersed and never feel like you are missing out. Surprised to say - this book can standalone. However, if you don't go back through the Englishes, Winslows and Jax's story after finishing, color me surprised. For all the readers who've read Katy before, this story doesn't not fail us and makes us fall deeper in love with her talent.

5 out of 5 stars

REVIEW:  MARRY ME MAD (BLUEBERRY LANE:  THE ROUSSEAUS) BY KATY REGNERY

Marry Me Mad by Katy RegneryMy rating: 5 of 5 starsMad is the quintessential good girl. Cort is the misunderstood bad boy. They seem worlds apart but really aren't all that different. Marry Me Mad is the journey of two people finding their voices individually and as a unit. Stepping outside of the box is a scary event in anyone's life but when your whole identity is being compared to a twin, it's even worse. Madeline is discovering who she is as a person and pulling off the label that she has been stamped with. Cort may be a little rough on the outside but his strength of character is in every action he makes. The way he treats Mad and the things he says to her are like sweet honey to the soul and music to the ears. Marry Me Mad is every woman's fantasy, to find the guy who sees only her. A breathtaking love story.View all my reviews

Madeleine "Mad" Rousseau had had enough! This is the third time that Mad thought her boyfriend was cheating on her! But this time she actually had proof, when she called his room, only to find his "intern" answering! Well now she is done! And Mad finds herself sitting in a dive bar knocking back tequila like it's going out of style!

Cortlandt "Cort" Ambler was playing in a little French dive bar in a rough area of Philadelphia, then the last person he ever expected to see again walked through the door…Mad Rousseau! But after breaking up with her twin sister (when he was 17 years old), he knew that he was the last person she would ever want to speak too…not matter that he had a crush on her, when he was dating her sister (huge mistake there), which never quite went away. But Mad needed help (especially when she threw up across the table) and Colts wanted to be the one that helps her.

A unlikely friendship develops between this two, despite their histories! But will it ever develop into more? Or will family loyalties destroy their chance of a happy ever after, before they even get a chance?

I have not read ANY of Katy Regnery books before, so I'm literally going into this series blind and without preconceived notions…but by the time we heard the first piano notes, I was hooked!

The writing and the plot were simply wonderful, the characters divine! And don't although there was references to characters I hadn't ever met before (obviously!), it honestly didn't matter!! But I will say, I'm going to buy book 1, because I really want to know more of Jax story!

I give Marry Me Mad 5 stars! ( )
