I liked the idea of this one. Having aliens in Nocturne Falls. But at the same time I think it was missing the best part of this series: Nocturne Falls. I mean, yes, we visit the places known from other books and some characters too, but that was bit of a side note.

Also, what bugged me was that the scifi element wasn't really that well built. I get that this is a novella, and there was so much that needed to go into it, but still. I'm not really sure how a planet can have a dark side (as in a side which never gets sunlight). We do describe some planets having a dark side from Earth, but this is not a side without sunlight, but the side that is not seen from Earth. Sorry, that's me being an astronomer...

Also, I felt that the whole prison part was kind of rushed. I get that this was not the main point of the story, but maybe this could've been done with an epilogue. So, not even show the whole thing. Now it seemed just rushed and unbelievable. But all in all, this was quite enjoyable addition to Nocturne Falls. ( )
