From the Collins Crime Club archive, the sixth Inspector French novel by Freeman Wills Crofts, once dubbed 'The King of Detective Story Writers'. A MURDER MYSTERY WITHOUT A CLUE When Sir John Magill, the wealthy Irish industrialist, fails to show up at his home town on a well-publicised visit, neither his family nor the Belfast police can explain his disappearance. The tale is as the mysterious disappearance of Magill, who was travelling between England and Belfast. It has been a few months since I had red this book, and as such the detail is now a little vague and rather than perhaps get it wrong or misleading I will keep this review very short.
I had earlier read another of Croft's books man Overboard!, which also featured a man disappearing between London and Belfast (a dangerous path no doubt)! Save for that and the presence of French again, but think that Magill (written before Overboard) was the better of the two.
