I found this book with a group of other Weekly Reader books while cleaning up my childhood home -- maybe they were my brother's? I have them marked as "History" because in reading them I've come to realize that a lot of our history is written into them -- how we interacted with adults as children; how adults interacted with children; how adults interacted with other adults; the language that we used with one another -- that's all history.
Regardless, the storyline of this little book I found quite enjoyable and it 100% reminded me of a Scooby Doo episode, which made me wish that I had either read it as a child or even had it read to me growing up. I loved the scene where the boy's are discussing ghosts and what it's going to be like to catch one just prior to falling asleep -- I wanted to follow the storyline along in my own imagination and take a nap to see if I had any exciting dreams; I could see ending that chapter while putting an adventurous child (or children) to sleep, to leave them with thoughts and adventures to dream about.
Read to your children.
