A mixed group of scientists are travelling to find out if the legendary Nightflyers exist or not. Nightflyers are supposed to be people travelling at sub-light speed away from the centre of galaxy in wonderful, large ships. Very soon the story starts to look like Agatha Christie’s “And Then There Were None”. The ship is captained by a sort prototype of Martin’s later hero, Havilland Tuf. Somehow even parts of story remind me of the “song of ice and fire”. Very good, well told story, the end might not completely fulfil the expectations of the beginning. ****

What if fire would have discovered now? Or if the military and medical byrocracy of today would have exited in far past? Amusing little story. ***1/2

archaeologist makes an surprising find when examining cave with stone-age paintings. None too surprising after the basic premise is revealed, good mood. ****- ( )
