The stories in and of themselves are decent enough, but the huge continuity hops and constant setting up plot points that are then long gone by the time the next story takes place (such as kidnapping a child in one story only to have the child back with no mention of a kidnapping in the next) makes for a jarring read. Its notion is clearly to provide a bridge of Jessica Jones' character arc between The Pulse and her relaunched 2016 solo-title, but in this it falls short. If the reader's intent is to fill in the gap between Jessica's headlining outings, and reading Bendis' entire decade-long stint of New Avengers isn't an option, one would probably be better served with a Wikipedia summary than this fragmented depiction. Still, some standalone gems made it well worth the trouble for me and pushes it up to three stars, like the MCU-set bonus story at the end, the brief Jessica Jones appearance in Amazing Spider-Man that's included, or the Marvel 75th Anniverary Celebration story. This collection felt haphazard and more than a little confusing, with single, Jessica-centric issues pulled from larger story arcs and presented with little-to-no-context. If, like me, you're not familiar with the Skrulls' SECRET INVASION story line, then you will be lost.

Also, Power Woman and boob windows? Vomit. ( )

I'm not sure what the point was of this collection. None of these vignettes stand alone, nor do they fit together. Unless you have all the editions that surround this collection you will be hard pressed to make sense of what is happening.

The stories in this book are all well written and interesting, but none of them seem to really connect to the others; one or two even contradict each other. Not the best collection, but not trash, either. ( )
