Obviously, I loved the mystery. But I have to tell you that I have learned so much about Australia from reading these books. Like that the older houses in the mountains aren't really designed for some of the wintry weather, or that sleet is common but snow is not, or that the rural mail service is as messed up as it is in Wisconsin. But we came for the fun and the sleuthing, and there is nothing to disappoint. The characters are as astounding as ever, including all of the new ones. If you haven't been lucky enough to read the others in this series, it's never too late. Each is fully stand-alone, but I think that you miss out on so much fun by not reading all of them. (
