This is an action packed thriller with the refreshing fallibilities of the good people contributing to the plausibility of the characters. At first there seem to be too many disconnected characters to master but they quickly find their places in a cohesive well written story. An important aspect of the excellence of the writing is the detail. I wondered once whether the author's imagination was running riot but soon relaxed into the comfort of trusting I was in good hands. The acknowledgements and references at the end supported this trust: the action, firearms, technology, farming, genetics and workings of government agencies have been researched. The pace, plot, character development and interest-factor were all good. I see this is part of a series but reads well as a stand-alone.

An excellent international spy thriller that is very well developed and has great main characters. Action packed from beginning to end. Rodney Fox and Nita Parish are great characters and have us rooting for them throughout the book. The book is very hard to put down, and with a great finish leaves the reader wanting more. I highly recommend this book to all lovers of spy thrillers. I will definitely be looking for future books written by this author. ( )

The Demeter Code is a spy thriller. There is a hostile attack being planned against the US. The CIA and its agents are trying to find out source and timing so they can come up with a plan of prevention.

The vast number of characters, the many story threads, the action are what I expect in this genre. The difference being the threat and attack comes not from a country but from maniacs with the ultimate goal of bringing about the end of the U.S., Israel, or really any country they dislike.

The choice weapon is a sobering possibility which increases the realism of The Demeter Code. As does the number of organizations that are intelligence gathering and the question of do they work together or against each other.

There was only one area of the book I disliked, the sex scene. It was unnecessary and did nothing to promote or enhance the story. It seemed to be included for prurient or shock value or to satisfy those readers who require erotica to make a book complete.
