I just want to tell the main character that her Tante is super right about her costume and that she should be glad the festivies were cut shor.t ( )

This is a slim Young Adult novel but don't let that fool you. It's a tough, unflinching story about racism and anti-semitism, seen through the eyes of an eleven year old girl. The story takes place in the mid-fifties in small town Virginia. Good strong stuff! ( )
