Operation Salazar is about the search for a mysterious object to come to the aid of a father in prison who claims innocence. The story unfolds at a good pace that keeps you guessing throughout the book. It's full of intrigue, high stakes and complications. Yet the situations and entanglements aren't always what they seem between the family, friends, criminal associates, innocent victims, and police. How will it all end... or will it? Occasional language and references are more suitable for adult readers. Otherwise I would have rated the book with an additional star. Twisting and turning through to the ending, Operation Salazar is an engaging story. The characters show a strong loyalty which is tested throughout. The first half of the story drags a bit but picks up at about midpoint. Overall it's an interesting read - I recommend it. The story itself was good. It had some suspense along with some twists and turns. I had a hard time connecting with the characters. But all in all a good story. Big Sal plans, Antonio, and Marco execute. Everything changes when a simple breaking and entering turns into a home invasion. Jen and Peter cannot understand what is happening and why. It comes down to money, family, and honor between thieves. It a maze of events that ends up in a not so neatly wrapped package. The plot moves along with a few twists and turns to keep it interesting. A very well written crime story with a believable plot and an excellent storyline. Many twists and turns exist and the story is well paced. Very hard to put down providing for a quick enjoyable read. The multiple characters are well developed and easy to follow. The writer does an excellent job of wrapping up the conclusion to the story and the characters. I highly recommend this book for all readers who enjoy an excellent crime story. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione
A home invasion uncovers a conspiracy that threatens to overthrow a nationwide criminal enterprise. For Marco Salazar, it was supposed to be a routine home invasion. Except, as he learned, there's no such thing. With the help of his longtime friend, Antonio Esposito - the soft-spoken wingman - and his pizzeria-owning uncle, Amelio "Big Sal", Marco's journey for righteousness for his falsely imprisoned father, Bartolo, leads them through the suburbs of Boston. A string of home invasions leaves the trio just shy of having the money needed for Bartolo's defense attorney's retainer, and they've saved their prime target for last. But even the target - a 1941 Victorian in a quiet neighborhood in Stoneham - has secrets trapped deep within its walls, and unlocking them might unravel a whole new world that has its own set of rules. And the players who loom in the shadows are ruthless, with its net stretching even wider than anyone could imagine. Nobody can be trusted. And that's only the beginning. What the secrets may reveal could tear down an underground criminal enterprise, and it threatens to destroy everything that Marco has worked for. Families will be torn apart, bonds will be broken, and faith in one another will be put into question. All the while, the clock is ticking on Bartolo. And if Marco somehow makes it out alive, his life will be changed forever. Non sono state trovate descrizioni di biblioteche |
