Lashea677 | Feb 16, 2019 |   My first Melissa Foster listen and I'm in love! I understand that this series, the Wild Billionaires After Dark Series, is a little more erotic than her others; and boy did it deliver some heat! I also enjoyed the suspense angle of this intriguing romance. Further complementing the whole package was the talented and sexy narration by Robert Ashker Kraft which helped bring this romantic suspense title to life. Stella Knight is on the run. After falling for a bad man, she doesn't know who to trust. Moreover, she misses her home and longs to be able to return to see her mother, but knows she can't go back home if she wants to protect her. Even worse, her ex's imminent release from prison--which she sadly tracks with "Xs" on her calendar--means that her precarious situation is about to get much more dangerous and worse. Fortunately for Stella she happens to be in the right place at the right time, and meets Logan Wild at a bar. From the very start, the protective Logan, who uses his Navy SEAL training in his current career as a private investigator, is helping Stella evade danger. After a hot night of passion however, Logan knows that there is something that Stella (who tells Logan that her name is "Stormy") is hiding. Determined to get more than just one night with Stella, Logan sets out to uncover who Stella really is and what she is hiding. Can Logan solve the mystery before it's too late? Moreover, even if he does, is a HEA in the cards for this couple? Robert Ashker Kraft's deep and charismatic voice is perfect for this romantic suspense title. I particularly enjoyed Mr. Kraft's rendition of Logan which seemed to perfectly exemplify his alpha hero protective and goose bump inducing passionate ways. Mr. Kraft also manages to produce a slightly higher toned voice for Stella--making it easy to distinguish the characters in the dialogues without needing to rely on dialogue tags. Mr. Kraft's timing was also well suited to set the mood for each scene. This was my first experience with Mr. Kraft's narrations, and I will definitely be looking to add more. Whether you're a Melissa Foster fan already, or are looking for a new romance author who knows how to pen a sexy, alpha hero and compelling romance, I recommend that you give Wild Boys After Dark: Logan a listen! Logan is a former Navy Seal turned private investigator. When he meets & helps a woman named "Stormy", he knows there is more to her story. He can tell she is running from something. The chemistry & connection are so intense, he wants to do what ever he can to protect her. Stella (Stormy) has learned how to hide & has left her identity behind to protect her family. Loved this book & will be reading the rest of the stories that make up this series! Melissa does reference some of her other series in this book but judging by this book, this series will be more intense & hot! Logan is a protective alpha man who will do anything to protect his woman. What I really like is that the women in this series look to be just as strong as the men that grow to love them. And her family and had been on the run, but now she has 4 days till her ex aka the man who keeps trying to kill her get out of jail and she just knows he is going to come after her again. But that doesn’t mean that Stella stayed in her home town and is waiting blindly for Kutcher (the ex-boyfriend who is trying to kill her) to complete the job. No she left all of her family behind and fled to the city and is now working in a bar. But then an over friendly customer wouldn’t take no for an answer! A hero managed to save her; this hero’s name? Logan Wild. Logan is many things…a PI, Retired Navy SEAL and a great son and friend, but he has also seen the horrors in this world and when he sees fear in Stella’s eyes, he knows, that where he needs to be. All he needs to do is get Stella to trust him, then he can protect her, but after all she has suffered, will she ever truly be able to trust that he can banish the evil from her life! OMG!! This book had me gripped to the edge of my seat and had tears in my eyes all at the same time and I simply loved it! Now, I do love a gritty romance, but this book takes it to a whole new level! Now, this book doesn’t have explosions or intense violence, but that doesn’t mean it’s not gritty! The character Logan is a gritty individual and the way he works, is just plain sexy! The writing, plot and characters are simply perfect and I hope Dylan gets a book too! This book not only tells Stella’s story, but it delves a little into who the Wild family are and what has made them this way and I find that complexness so alluring. I give Logan 10 out of 10.
