A short story that spans a year in the life of Harmon, a civil war soldier who has lost his legs, and Linnea, the girl he was engaged to when he went off to war. I enjoyed the story but feel the author either needs to pay more attention to her sentence structure or needs to have someone else proof her work. One of her sentences unintentionally decaptitated a character because it was grammatically unsound! Humorous, but not because the author was trying to make it so. ( )
