I really like this book, I really liked that it was about Curious George playing with a girl who is disabled. I think that it would help kids to understand that it's okay to be different when they see characters they know in books about a disability. I like that throughout the book, the author highlighted all of the things that Tina was good at doing such as going up a ramp with speed. George said that Tina was amazing and he loved the way she raced around. Tina was good at going down the slide, playing tic-tac-toe, and playing basketball. I think it's important to have students realize that a disability doesn't mean they are unable to do it, just that they have to work at it more! ( ) I loved this book! Curious George, the monkey, and his owner, the man with the yellow hat, go to the playground to play with his new friend, Tina. Tina is a girl in a wheelchair, and this playground has wheelchair access. George and Tina play on the playground, then they go to the basketball court. George joins the other kids, and Tina asks if she can play, too. They let her play, and she scores several times! The team is impressed with her ability, so they ask George and Tina to join their team! The author shows that Tina can play basketball like the other kids even though she is in a wheelchair. This adorable story is about the famous Curious George and his eye-opening adventure to a new playground. When George and the man in the yellow hat arrived, George was overwhelmed with all the excitement at the playground. He found his friend Tina, a young girl in a wheelchair. The story shares different activities that the two friends were able to do together around the playground. When George saw a group of kids playing basketball, he pulled Tina to the courts to play. Tina was shy, and when she asked to play with George and the other kids, the others were hesitant at first, but then allowed her to play. George and the other players on the Slam Dunkers team were amazed how talented Tina was at basketball. After the game, the players on the team asked George and Tina to be players on their team. This was an enjoyable book that has essential lessons for young readers to take away, such as acceptance, as well as not judging ones talents based on their disability. This book is also a good source for young readers to learn different activities they can play with disabled peers. In a new book based on a children's classic, Curious George befriends a girl named Tina, who is in a wheelchair. The book shows us the importance of having playgrounds with have special play structures that fit all different needs. Curious George never would have met Tina at a playground that didn't have these inclusive features because she wouldn't have been able to play there. They see some kids playing basketball but are shy to join in because of their differences from the other it kids. It turns out that George is a natural, and Tina is already great at basketball despite being in a wheelchair. This would be a great book to show kids the importance of inclusivity and catering to the of needs of everyone. The main character Tina uses a wheelchair and is friends with George. George is aware of Tina abilities to play and is quite impressed with her. However when she meets other children they aren't sure at first and Tina is shy to approach but after she shows them how much she can do inspite of being in the wheelchair, they ask Tina and George to join them. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione
