This is an ok standalone Crime thriller from Peter James.

Plot An old actress Gloria Lamark that not many people remember is found dead by her weird grown up son Thomas lives with her and has a very unhealthy obsessive relationship with her.

Meanwhile Dr Michael Tennant a psychiatrist who was treating Gloria is all loved up with his new Girlfriend Amanda.

Thomas makes it his mission to kidnap and torture anyone who has disrespected his Mother, he kidnaps a lady from the Publishing house who rejected her book and also the reporter from local paper who didnt know who his Mother was.
He also blames Dr Tennent for her demise decides to take Amanda and then under an alias goes and sees him to get treated, he then gets under the skin of Tennant.
Police are slowly piecing things together an other old actress is found dead and it looks like suicide but there are suspicions.
Tennent has to do his own digging and eventually finds Amanda before she is tortured to death. Police also turn up on the scene. Thomas is arrested and sentenced to life in the mad hospital.

Eine einstmals bekannte Schauspielerin bringt sich um. Ihr 37-jähriger Sohn, der ihr auf ungewöhnliche Weise verfallen ist, rächt sich an den Personen, die er dafür verantwortlich macht. Ich habe einige Stunden in das Buch investiert, da ich Peter James gern lese, normalerweise. Dieses Buch hier ist mir aber wirklich zu brutal und grausam gewesen, der reinste Horror. Daher habe ich dann den Rest nur noch quergelesen. ( )

I enjoyed this book a fair bit of tension but sometimes a bit drawn out, still a good book. ( )

I was given a whole set of his books by someone who wanted to clear a little space on their shelf, and on reflection I don't think I would really chose to read his novels. ( )
