I loved this book - the meta aspect of up and the illustrations were lovely. However my three-year-old was confused and my seven-year-old was bored. So I'm not sure it works as a children's book. ( )

On a normal, sunny day, there is a chain of events that take place without fail. But today it is raining, so none of that will happen.

Each day it is the same story, except for when it rains. The story is a version of the story of the big bad wolf. I have read more than the original story of the big bad wolf and the three little pigs. I think it would be interesting to read multiple sties about the big bad wolf and have student compare. ( )
