A decent read that kept losing points during certain scenes. Good character development around "the big misunderstanding" from their teen years. Thanks to the manipulation of Lucas's best friend (something else that helped the story lose points - I hate that trope), Lucas gets talked into being the Man of Honor at his friend's wedding to his brother Zach and is essentially paired off with Gabe who is Zach Best Man. The plot, of course, is to get these two people together for obvious reasons. Cliche much?

I would have liked some tag warnings myself, so here they are for other readers: Elements of D/s, discussions of spanking, and I got annoyed with Gabe constantly using the term "boy" or "my boy" when referring to or even speaking to Lucas. Babe or honey are bad enough, but boy is going too far and sounds really demeaning even if he meant it as an endearment. ( )

Let's discuss how I adore the Bluewater Bay series. It's m/m romance set in a small Pacific Northwest town where a genre TV show based on a book series films. The characters are a great mix of cast, crew, and townie (including a few loggers). This is a town I'd like to visit, and it's definitely a TV show I'd watch and series I would read. The books are on the whole funny and sweet, with realistic problems and solutions.

Lucas and Audrey both left Bluewater Bay after high school graduation and never looked back. Until Audrey fell in love with his brother and started planning her Bluewater Bay wedding and forced Lucas to be part of it. Going back to Bluewater Bay means facing his parents and facing his high school crush, the man who dumped him without a word. (See Lights, Camera, Cupid for this backstory.) But Lucas is a wonderful friend and Audrey is determined so off he goes to face his past.

Lucas is so damn stubborn, I adore him. But Gabe, is equally stubborn, Audrey is a meddler, and Bluewater Bay seems to make people fall in love.

This was sweet and funny and just as wonderful as all the Bluewater Bay books.
