I'm honestly not in love with the book or its characters. Good thing it was a short read.... ( ) Despite not reading any of the preceding books in the series, I did not feel lost in this one. I did have some trouble keeping which brother was married to which bride straight, but with 6 other brother characters, that's sort of normal for me so it didn't bother me. This book highlights the good that can come from the foster care system (Mrs. Worther seems to care about the kids in her care; Delilah chose the profession because she saw it could make a difference; Mac gets placed with a loving family that raises and adopts him and turns into a good man) and the horrors of the foster care system (siblings being separated; someone losing Callie's records so that it appears she never existed, causing people to tell Mac that she's a figment of his imagination; Callie's adopted family telling her that her brother died because they only wanted to adopt a girl to replace the daughter that they lost). I liked the theme of waiting for the right person for you to come along (God's choice for your life), though I am not sure it happens this way in real l ife. I liked that the Donohue boys all had fond thoughts of Mrs. Worther and what she did for them and that they were willing to help her when she needed help. I'm glad Mac believed in himself enough to start a search for Callie even though many people didn't believe that she even existed. I half expected Callie to end up dating Parker, Mac's cousin. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione
