This time the focus is on a rodeo swain who engages their help and is coming to their small town to meet a woman who was set up by her daughter on a love website. (Mom never knew this). Mom ends up falling for sweet hearted ex rodeo clown--hilarious side tracking all the way. ( ) Found this at half price books as was intrigued by the title. Didn't realize I was getting into a series but will look for the others. This has an ex-rodeo star going out with a woman he met online from West Texas. The mystery part comes in when we find out that the cowboy had his identity stolen by a woman he used to date. Lots of plot turns and was good overall. This is the second book I've read by Dixie Cash, and I have to say, they're something of a sinful pleasure! There's not really any redeeming social or literary quality to these books, but they're so much fun! These would be great beach or airport reads. They contain a little bit of mystery, a lot of romance, and even more Southern sass! I highly recommend Dixie Cash for a quick, easy read. Oh, how I love this series. I did have to suffer through DH's chatter about some 'anomalies' in the logic, but I know to go with the flow...anomalies schanomalies....Debbie Sue and Ed crac me the hell up! The mystery kind of meanders and really doesn't make a show until later in the book and that's okay, too. It's also secondary to the sort of romance between Allison and Quint, then later really heats up between Allison and Tag, the best friend of Quint. Allison meets Quint via her daughter's good intentions of the online dating service. She thinks Quint is easy on the eyes, but a little full of himself. Quint takes her to a restaurant that his best friend owns and Allison meets Tag...owner of the restaurant. And they keep meeting up and falling more for each other, but unwilling to do more about it because of Quint. Quint is in his own world of trouble and hires Debbie Sue and Edwina to help him out. Debbie Sue still thinks of Quint as a good friend and everyone else thinks Quint is an egotistical ex-boyfriend of Debbie Sue, in particular Debbie Sue's husband. Favorite scene in the book is the 'toy' party...O..M..G!!! It has to be read or listened to, I really cannot do it justice here....but...O..M..G funny! Please do yourself a favor, if you like a funny mystery, please get this book, this series! Five funny funny Texas diamonds..... nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione

To single mom Allison Barker, men are a heap of heartbreak. So when her twelve-year-old daughter confesses that she's posted Allison's profile on an Internet matchmaking service and has been pretending to be her mom, Allison hits the roof . . . just before the doorbell rings. Standing on the porch is her date--he's Hollywood handsome and all male and he looks somehow familiar. Turns out he's famed ProRodeo bull-riding champion Quint Matthews. He whisks Allison off to dinner, but it's not Quint who captures her interest--it's his old friend, rodeo bull fighter Tag Freeman. But Quint's got something--or rather, someone, more on his mind than Allison--because the very next day he's off to visit Debbie Sue Overstreet. Debbie Sue was once taken in by Quint's sky-blue eyes and tight jeans, but that was before she remarried the best-looking man in Texas, Buddy Overstreet. When Quint turns up at Debbie Sue's door begging for help, she can't turn him down. Seems that Quint has finally gotten his comeuppance--his identity has been stolen, by a woman no less, one he met through an online dating service. The Equalizers take the case--after all, Quint is an "old friend" and, even better, he can pay! But no one would ever have guessed that the investigation would lead to murder . . . or that gender-confused Eugene/Janine--whom the Equalizers have tangled with before--would return to stir the stew. Or that there would be mixed messages and broken hearts all over the place. Of course, as Edwina has often said, there's nothin' that a pitcher of strong margaritas and some serious snooping can't cure . . . but not until Debbie Sue and Edwina go on a crazy ride across West Texas!
