I was ordered by my dad to clear up the old newspaper when I stumbled upon the interview with Lim Goh Tong in Star Two. Through that article, I learnt that he had produced an autobiography titled My Story.

Flashing back the time when I was merely 10 years old, my dad told me his story when he was driving up to Genting Highlands. I secretly told myself that I have to be at least as successful as Lim Goh Tong when I grow up. With the dreams to crack his successful story, I purchased this book and finished it within a day.

Towards the end of the autobiography, I convinced myself that it is better to drop my dream. He’s the best entrepreneur I’ve ever heard of. Despite of his education background and his disability to converse in English, this man built not only Genting Highlands, but also Ayer Itam Dam and Kemubu Bridge. Besides that, he diversified his company into paper production, power generation, oil and gas operation and plantation. Right now he is the sole monopoly of the holiday cruise industry in Asia.

If you’re keen to learn some business management tips, this is the book. However, his tips are rather indirect, so you gotta pick it up yourself. I’ve found some useful information to myself.
