A little more backstory would have been nice, since the conceit is that we hit the ground running with these characters after missing out on the past twenty-five or thirty years of their lives. But the core of the book is Eric and Woody's relationship, and that's strong enough that if I had to choose I'd rather read a series about the two of them when they were kids than the continuing adventures of Quantum and Woody.
tl;dr -- Good but not great, but if you're a fan of the Priest & Bright-flavor Quantum and Woody, you'll definitely enjoy it. (
