Catacomb is the third book in the Asylum series. It follows Dan a generally loner kid who occasionally sees things. Abby an artist, loyal friend, and Dan's love interest. Jordan, a math wizz, gay, who has no problem speaking his mind but is still loyal to both his friends in the end.

This time Jordan is moving to New Orleans and Abby and Dan are coming along with for a fun, before college, road trip. But the Dan starts to receive warning texts from a dead friend. People are following him, and more and more information and leads are popping up about his birth parents who died in a car crash. Soon they find themselves in the middle of a mystery, and danger, once again.

I don't know if its because its the third book and I'm getting into it more, or if its because its getting better, but I'm giving this book 4stars instead of 3. I found it more interesting and engaging then the first two. Also it was a bit spookier. The betrayals are starting to get predictable but still the mystery of the story I never saw coming. I still think there is something lacking in the dynamic of the trios friendship and the story left some unanswered questions for me. All in all it was a great story and book. I'd give the overall trilogy four stars. ( )

This book has been better than the previous ones. The story is more interesting, and we do get a bit of explanation of what's going on in the background, so it has that going for it.

Unfortunately, the author still leaves too much unexplained. And the deus ex machina at the end was a turn off.

Overall, read the book once, and skip it. That's what I did. ( )

The third book in the series and it doesn't disappoint. Dan, Abby, and Jordan take a road trip to New Orleans and in there normal fashion it's not long before strange things happen. Filled with ghosts, bones, cults, and murder this book kept me wanting to stay up late reading. ( )

I liked this series. I would have liked more background information but it was fun to read. ( )
