This book follows Bear as its parents are getting divorced. The book doesn't focus on the children's pain, but highlights it just long enough to show sympathy This book shows how to deal with a divorce in an emotionally healthy way.

Divorce is a growing problem today and not all children have the necessary support system to deal with it properly.

1. Children can be asked to write an open letter to their parents detailing how they feel and how the book has helped them.
2. Children can be asked to collect something meaningful from both parents and create a 'family' object

Koko bear is a non-fiction book which describes how to help children deal with divorces. Koko bear is informed by his parents that they are getting a divorce. They explain to Koko what a divorce is and what are some things that are going to change. Both parents explain that it is not his fault and that they will still be his family. Koko bear has to deal with issues in school until his teacher has a conversation with his mother. Both parents cooperate with each other to help Koko bear deal with the divorce issues by doing activities such as puzzles and comparing marriage to the puzzle. Koko bear begins to understand is begins to become happy at the end because he can now deal with the issues because other kids in his class have dealt with divorce also. In the end he draws a picture containing both parents holding him with two seperate homes.
