Dear gods. If I'd never read the books, this would rate a four, but... no. Basic continuity fails all over the place as related to the books - and the story's sparse enough that without reading the books first, I'm not sure it stands.

Awesome artwork. Nimitz with *four legs* for some reason. Harrington's presentation and wording as narration just... don't have the feel of the character from the books. Other bits and pieces.

But really, really good artwork, so I'll take the variances in stride, I suppose despite a fairly vigorous jarring disconnect. ( )

This is a five issue collection of the new comic retelling of On Basilisk Station. I've read most of the books in the series and I liked how they decided to tell this story in flashbacks from an event in the future of the series. The down side is reading this as a collection there is the constant summary of what has happened in the prior issues. The art is nice but I’m not sold on the treecat art but that is more of a subjective taste. This isn't the entire version of On Basilisk Station but enough to give a reader a taste if he wants to read the entire book instead of waiting for the rest of the issues.

Enjoyed the books, love the series. Looking forward to following Honor Harrington in her new graphic environment. 70 years ago, I was using my paper route to support my comic book habit, then I graduated to SF. It will be a great treat in my eighth decade to have the benefit of this new modern version of Honorverse ( )

Not bad; the flashback format was kind of clunky but I'll pick up the next volume and see how it goes. ( )
