Sybil has always taken comfort in her passion for knitting, creating beautiful knits stitch by stitch. But her world suddenly unravels when her fiance ditches her for her identical twin sister at her Star Wars-themed wedding, leaving her sporting a Princess Leia do. Then things go from bad to worse when an incident at work jeopardizes her job. Hoping to escape her woes and forget that she'll be alone for Christmas this year, she visits her friend in Tindledale - a winter wonderland of quaint shops and snowy rooftops. When she arrives in the idyllic town, she can't help feeling like she's in a Hallmark greeting card. She's embraced by welcoming, if eccentric, locals wearing handmade knits that remind Sybil of her own creations as well as her unrealized ambitions of selling them. So when the vintage boutique asks her to make an assortment of knits for their display window, she's thrilled. As soon as I started reading this book I knew I'd enjoy it. Sybs has a weekend away in a quaint friendly little village and soon gets involved in the community. Its a heartwarming book and I look forward to more in the series. ( )

The Great Christmas Knit-Off
By
Alexandra Brown

What it's all about...

Poor sweet Sybs! Her evil twin sister has run off with Sybs fiancé...literally moments before their wedding. Star Wars themed...a fiancé name Luke and invitations that read...May the Fourth Be With You! Heeheehee! Sybs and her loyal goofy dog Basil run off to stay in the country with her friend Cher...Sybs is also in a wee bit of trouble at work. So...she and Basil leave for a nice country visit and a whole bunch of knitting and a chance to forget!

Why I wanted to read it...

This book had everything that I wanted in a book right now...snow, Christmas, a lovely little town, a pub, a handsome country doctor, a cool Inn owner, a little Scottie dog and a knitting shop in desperate need of a rescue...including its fragile owner...Hettie!

What made me truly enjoy this book...

The characters and their situations were delightful! I wanted to cheer on Sybs and Hettie and boo Sasha...the evil twin. I also wanted to boo poor Hettie’s obnoxious money grubbing nephew...who also wanted her land as well as her shop! But...leave it to Sybs and Basil to get strong and hopefully save the day!

Why you should read it, too...

I loved this book! The knitting was fun. The characters were fun. I could easily read more knitting books...especially if they are set in this sweet little town.

This is my book! I bought it, read it and loved it. ( )
